Another WIN for GREEN FINGERS!

6th Apr 2017

On Wednesday 5 April representatives from Sperrinview Special School’s Young Enterprise Team, Green Fingers, made the trip to Titanic Belfast to attend the Young Enterprise Big Celebration Event. After enjoying a programme of activities including a quiz, a disco and enjoying scones and juice, the team made their way into the Titanic Suite for the awards ceremony. The team were left star struck when they discovered it was UTV’s Marc Mallett who was announcing the awards! Delighted to simply attend the event, Green Fingers were not expecting to leave with any silverware. However, Mr Mallett then announced the winner for the ‘Southern Area Team Young Entrepreneur Award’ to Sperrinview’s very own Head Girl!! Our Head Girl returned to Sperrinview in September 2016 for her final year in Senior School where she was appointed to Head of Sales for Green Fingers. A big thanks must go to Karen Birnie (Marketing and Communications Manager, Dunbia), our Business Advisor and Stephen Cotton (Technology and Design HoD, Drumglass High School) for their help and support throughout the year. The Head Girl will now attend the Young Enterprise Awards on Thursday 18 May in Belfast City Hall to compete with other Young Entrepreneurs where an overall winner will be announced. She has two invitations to this prestigious ‘Black Tie’ event – the question is, “Who will you take?”.
