TacPac

20th May 2020

Hello Tacpackers,

This week on Facebook our videos introduce Louise Stewart's
research and her findings on Tacpac's impact on young children with a visual impairment.

The first of three videos, video shared today, sees Louise, a qualified teacher in vision impairment, introduce herself and the project she has recently completed.

Louise explains how visual impairment can affect social skills, language and communication. From birth we are communicating with each other visually; think of babies eye gazing, smiling and reaching out to grab your fingers. All this interaction is interrupted by reduced vision.

Rather than study the deficits of visual impairment Louise was inspired to look at alternative methods of interaction. Her research project studied a group of children and their parents using Tacpac.

You will have to wait until Louise's third video to find out the results but we are sure you'll find all of the videos and their unfolding story fascinating.

We would appreciate you sharing this email with anyone you know who may find this research useful.
Thank you.
