7th Dec 2022

One of our parents who has a speciality in Paediatrics sent this advice for parents last night. Please advise parents that after 48 hrs - 2 days on penicillin/other anti-biotic, that they need to to throw out the child’s toothbrush. Streptococcus is a bacteria that is highly contagious and in the human mouth it’s especially important not to reinfect, this is imperative . Our toothbrush is a major haven for this infection . Also please see the advice attached regarding when to keep your child off school and advice from PHA which was received in all schools late last night from EA. This has been placed in the Parents' section under school letters.

Further advice from PHA will issue later today and will be placed on SeeSaw and the school website.
